Holiday Gift Series #1: Masterbuilt Butterball Turkey Fryer Giveaway!

Masterbuilt Butterball Fryer

When I received my very own Masterbuilt Turkery Fryer in the mail this week I was initially skeptical. Would it make my life easier, not harder? Would it produce the moist, delicious turkey I love, without making a huge mess and burning my fingers in the process? The answer? Yes. I kid you not, this machine is quite the thing when it comes cooking turkey this year. When I tried it this week the turkey came out perfectly cooked and tender. Best of all, I was able to cook the entire thing while my daughter was at school. Doing it for the first time while she wasn’t underfoot was helpful, though now I’ll be able to do it with her in the kitchen with no problem. It is that easy to use.

We all will be tackling a lot this Thanksgiving and I want to help make your cooking responsibilities easier. Fry up a turkey with this piece of machinery, Naptime Chef your Twice-Baked Potatoes and bake a nice big batch of Pumpkin Bars. That’s all you need for a great family meal!

To give you a quick summary, the Butterball Turkey Fryer from Masterbuilt has the following features:

•                     The fryer is retailed at $159.96

•                     Adjustable thermostat temperature control

•                     Stainless steel construction

•                     Porcelain-coated inner pot

•                     Digital timer

•                     Folding lid with window and filter

•                     Cooking basket with drain clip

•                     Drain Valve for easy cleaning

•                     Saves on oil – uses 1/3 less than conventional turkey fryers

•                     It can feed up to 8 people when frying a 14 lb turkey

Don’t believe me? Check out this fun video on how to use it.

To celebrate my newfound appreciation for this piece of machinery I am giving one away courtesy of Masterbuilt! The winner will also receive a $15 coupon for a Butterball Turkey and a copy of Dadgum That’s Good! A cookbook from John McLemore, the CEO of Masterbuilt.

I’ve never made a turkey except for once and that was in a bag…came out okay but I’d like to make a nice juicy turkey this year with all the trimmings for my family! I’d love to win one of those!!

  3. Mary Beth says:

This is a great way to make turkey all year round…especially in summer!

  4. Sarah says:

This would make my holidays easier as it would make me feel better about frying a turkey with two little ones running around!

  5. Bd Stairways says:

We’re cooking a big turkey dinner in December at a Chalet we’re going to! This would be awsome to bring!! And so easy with all our kiddies!

  6. Phoebepeabody says:

I was just thinking this weekend I would fry a turkey this year. We are doing Thanksgiving on Saturday instead of Thursday so I wanted to do something a little different than the traditional roast to shake things up.

  7. Amanda says:

This would be SO wonderful for Thanksgiving and Christmas! We will be frying turkeys for both and I have to do it outside, with TONS of oil (which has to be pre-measured so it doesn’t spew hot oil all over the place when you put the turkey in, don’t ask me how I know this….) and then clean-up is – yuck! Very excited about this one! 🙂

  8. Mindorella00 says:

I would love to try a deep fried turkey ( I have made a whole turkey one other time). I have seen this on tv and they make it look so good and easy peasy. Plus, it could be used for a boil.

  9. SarahT says:

I just moved away from all of my family and will be hosting my first Thanksgiving. I have never prepared a turkey before and would love to attempt a fried turkey. I come from a long line of great cooks, so the pressure is on to make this a good Thanksgiving meal.

    3. Well, fried turkey happens to be my favorite. My grandpa use to always make one. Now, he is not in the best of health I could make him the fried turkey =)

    Thanks so much.

  11. Cindy says:

This device would make my life so much easier during the holidays as we have our office in our home which means I’m on call at all times. My mother lives next door and depends on me for everything important in her life and I’m a Nana that is always on call for my 3 grandchildren. I’m not complaining about any of the above, it’s just that I never know what each day will bring so any appliance that can help be working while I’m doing other things would surely be a blessing to me. I also saw a demonstration of this on the news and they actually said this is a healthy way of making turkey which was surprising for a frying machine ♥Thank you, I love your postings by the way.

  12. Marcy says:

I’ve only had a deep fried turkey once and LOOOOVED it. I’d love to have a chance to make one myself!

  13. Lm_blueeyes says:

I think this would be a big help time wise, also keeping less heating time in oven which heats up the house. Also always waiting on turkey to get done in oven so can cook other things. now wouldn’t have to wait.

  14. gmp505 says:

I’m already signed up for your newsletter, and a fan on Facebook.
I have always wanted to try a fried turkey, but was afraid of those huge open pots with all that boiling hot oil. I live in an apartment, so that would never have been an option for me. But, this seems to be much more manageable, and a lot easier to use. If I won, I would be very excited to try a turkey for Thanksgiving dinner.

  15. Cjbsrn says:

I have never tried deep fried turkey, although I would very much like to. I cook for two or three families every year and think it would make my life much easier!

  16. Erica says:

since moving “south” – they’ve always fried their turkeys – and i think it tastes much better! it’ll help me help the inlaws with their huge tgiving spread! thanks!

  17. Emdetrick says:

I like the fact that it has a Porcelain-coating inner pot…that equals easy clean up!!! Plus I like the fact that it uses less oil than the traditional fryers that I have always used in the past….It always feels like you waste so much oil when frying a turkey in those other huge fryers… I love the sleek design and stainless steel construction!! Very nice!! 😉

  18. LilBaybay says:

I was the first to comment so I think I should win one!

  19. Heather says:

Love the sleek look and the fact it can be used inside!

  20. Tinaengberg says:

I have not one, but two turkeys to produce this Thanksgiving. My son’s preschool class will have a true Thanksgiving Feast, for which I am to provide a lovely 12-14 lb. turkey. And then, a week later, I get to do it again for my own family. Good thing I like doing the turkey!

I’m on FB, and also subscribe to your newsletter. I love it!

  21. Alesia says:

This fabulous fryer would help me put the turkey on the table and not worry about whether or not it was going to be dry and tasteless. Fried turkeys rule, but I’ve never had the guts to fry one before – I think I would be able to do it with this thing!

  22. uli says:

I am a fan and receive your newsletter!
How will this help? Let me count the ways!!
A bunch of Italians and Russians will be eagerly awaiting my Turkey and I always have the “singles” which are just friends, or co-workers, or neighbors who have no place for Thanksgiving also waiting for the Turkey. This would allow me to cook 2 turkeys at the same time!!!! Truly helping out the day.
In the evening everyone makes turkey sandwiches that we go and bring to shelters for the homeless, and this way I can make a whole other Turkey just for that purpose while we are eating the first 2!!!!
Awesomeness!! I never win anything though, but the dream is a good one 🙂

  23. Ginger Spice says:

This will make the turkey delicious!

    I liked your facebook page.

I saw an excellent demonstration of this cooker on the Huckabee show the other night. I was so very impressed! Not only did they deep fry a beautiful turkey, but they also boiled veggies. It would be great for boiled seafood also. I’d use it for three: seafood, turkey, and veggies! I love the versatility.

  27. Jeangraef says:

I would love to try something new this Thanksgiving. Sounds like it would be very easy.

This sounds great. My parents do one or two a year, but the process is SO messy and there’s alot of oil used. Plus I am not sure how safe the old fryers are with little ones around. I would LOVE to surprise my husband with one I made for the holidays.
