Apple Cinnamon Baked Oatmeal

Ingredients

3 cups old-fashioned rolled oats
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon kosher salt
½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
½ teaspoon cinnamon
¼ teaspoon ground ginger
3 apples, cored, peeled and chopped
2 tablespoons butter, melted and cooled
2 cups 1% milk
3 tablespoons raw sugar, plus more for garnish

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. Spray a 2-quart baking dish and set aside.

2. In a large bowl mix the oatmeal, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger. Then add in the chopped apples and toss. Spread the mixture into the baking dish.

3. Whisk together the sugar, milk, and cooled butter. Pour this liquid over the oatmeal mixture and press everything down so it is packed into the baking dish with the milk.

4. Bake for 40 to 45 minutes, or until the mixture is light brown around the edges. Allow to cool slightly before serving with a drizzle of maple syrup.
