10 Faves: Books of 2015

10 Faves: Books of 2015 | The Naptime Chef

This year has been another great one for books. I am very proud that my second book was released at the end of April and has been well-received. I had a great time traveling around meeting everyone at book signings and chatting about food and recipes with so many of you! This year I also had the pleasure of speaking with a lot of fellow authors and meeting many of them in person. Here are some of my favorite books of the year. I can’t wait to see what is in store for 2016!

10 Faves: Books of 2015

The Pollan Family Table: This gorgeous book has become an instant classic in our kitchen. It is smartly organized my main ingredient and the recipes are delicious and completely accessible. I also love the ongoing dialogue between the family throughout the book. It is warm and convivial and makes you feel like you are sitting at their kitchen table.

Brown Eggs and Jam Jars by Aimeé Wimbush-Bourque: Aimeé is a dear friend and I have long adored her work. Her debut cookbook is a celebration of her Canadian roots and impressive homesteading with her young family. The recipes are perfectly family-friendly and highlight seasonal tastes while remaining simple enough for the everyday cook.

Grandbaby Cakes by Jocelyn Delk Adams: Jocelyn has burst onto the blogging scene and made an impressive splash with her first book. I adore it for many reasons. As a baker I simply can’t get enough of her unique twists on classic desserts. As a writer, I love her heartwarming stories about her family and friends and how they influence her in the kitchen. The book is the perfect mix of warmth, family, and recipes for everyone in your life.

Food52 Genius Recipes: Every cook loves a book of recipes that have been singled out from the pack because of their utter genius. This book is ideal for any home cook looking for a new angle to many of their favorites. Many of the recipes have been in plain site for years, but here they are given the spotlight. You’ll love reading how great Chefs give classics their own twist.

Picnic in Provence by Elizabeth Bard: This charming autobiography is a follow-up to Elizabeth’s first book, Lunch in Paris. I read this while I was in Paris so it was particularly enjoyable. Her tales of adjusting to life in Provence, with recipes, is a must for every bookshelf. It also makes a great gift!

10 Faves: Books of 2015

Dinner Solved! by Katie Workman: Katie knows what every mom wants: flexible recipes and reasonable kitchen solutions. I love her unique takes on family favorites. She shares so many great tips on how to adapt recipes to please every palate in your family.

What Katie Ate on the Weekend by Katie Quinn Davies: I’ve long adored Katie’s website and her books are equally as wonderful. This book is filled with fantastic recipes for sharing with family and friends. Sometimes I crack it open just to pour over the beautiful photography and styling. It is lighthearted and warm, the perfect book to revisit time and again.

10 Faves: Books of 2015

My Paris Market Cookbook by Emily Dilling: Every since our trip to Paris I’ve been trying to cook more French food for my daughter and I. This book is the perfect balance of classic and modern. It is fun to pour over the pages and revisit some of the favorite places we visited.

Habitat by Lauren Liess | The Naptime Chef

Habitat by Lauren Liess: I pour over cookbooks way more than design books, but this book really stood out. I adore the design ideas and Lauren’s modern, yet warm, design ideas. It is a great book if you are in the need of ideas for a whole house or just freshening up a room or two.

The Family Calendar Cookbook

I have to throw my book in the ring too! It was a pleasure to meet all of you on my book tour. Please stay in touch!
